Job Description

The Global Finance Operations Manager will manage a team responsible for executing payments and managing cash for One Acre Fund. You will drive projects that improve controls, streamline and standardize processes, and rigorously measure performance using key performance indicators.  Through process design, new system roll out, and leadership development you will enhance the quality of service provided by the finance team to other departments and ultimately to the farmer.

We are seeking an exceptional professional with 5-10 years work experience, and a long-term career interest in international development to serve in a career-track position that combines financial and operational analysis with management experience in Africa.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Typical tasks will include:

The Global Finance Operation Manager’s most important role will be managing and developing the team on a daily basis. You will work toward increasing efficiency, greater project ownership and operational autonomy, and ensuring work is allocated appropriately among staff. You will manage our volunteer pipeline external partnership, manage remote staff, and support team managers in the hiring process.
You will lead projects that drive cross-country standardization of payments procedures and improve payment controls. Projects could include increasing mobile money usage, launching a new payment processing system, or streamlining the payroll process across countries.
Global banking will be one of your key responsibilities, including seeking out new banking partners and models, and owning our global banking relationships.
You will create monthly country cash forecasts for our non-US operating countries. You will work closely with our head office Treasury department to consolidate each country’s forecast into the organization-wide forecast.  The end goal will be to deliver accurate forecasts to our lenders and integrate cash forecasting insights into daily cash management.

Qualifications

We are seeking an exceptional professional with 5-10 years of work experience and a demonstrated passion for international development.  Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

5-10 years of progressive work experience in finance-related roles required – treasury experience desirable
Management experience using KPIs to manage a large team
Experience leading cross-functional projects, building a strong internal control environment, and designing and implementing complex, multifaceted finance processes
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability and drive to work independently
Previous experience with SAP Business One a plus
Language: English required, French a plus
The ideal candidate will have at least one year demonstrated experience working in the developing world, although this is not a strict requirement

Compensation

Starts modest. However, this is a career-track role with fast raises for performance, paying a meaningful salary for long-term placement in developing nations.
