Position Summary
As part of UCP Wheels for Humanity’s strategic programming we have developed a social enterprise that improves access to appropriate wheelchairs for less resources settings.  This enterprise, called CLASP (Consolidating Logistics for Assistive Technology Supply and Provision), has proven to dramatically improve the range of wheelchairs available to global partners and decrease supply-chain challenges.  Currently CLASP is a USAID funded project, which is working towards self-sustainability.  As a fundamental step towards sustainability, CLASP must increase sales to NGO’s, government subsidy programs and country level distributors.  The new Global Sales Manager will play a crucial in both sales and marketing strategy and implementation.  Given the social nature of the role, the Global Sales Manager will generate sales while also guiding new customers to follow best practices in service delivery.

Responsibilities:
•       Contribute to the development of global sales strategy with emphasis on large volume buyers where both profit and social impact can be achieved
•       Cultivate relationships of trust and partnership with NGO buyers, national distributors and key national government representatives in low- and middle-income countries
•       Identify target markets and customers through research, relationship development and verification
•       Develop and maintain awareness of how CLASP is perceived among customers, wheelchair users, and prospects. Use this awareness to develop the CLASP brand and to keep the team in touch with critical brand development steps
•       Achieve or exceed sales consistent with CLASP’s business plan
•       Train sales people in product orientation, buyer’s decision process, ethical considerations related to medical device sales, sales techniques, maintaining a positive and energetic customer facing posture
•       Collaborate with team to improve lead generation and marketing tactics
•       Contribute to ongoing strategic vision and operating plan of CLASP
•       Leadership in the development of a global sales strategy and sales team as sales warrant staff expansion
•       Identify and initiate development of tools needed to support effective sales operations, such as CRM, promotional calendar, and sales policy
•       Coordinate promotional advertising, sales efforts, and general brand building social media posts for CLASP and coordinate with brand building for UCP Wheels
•       Contribute to the selection of products to be included in CLASP in response to market demands
•       Make sales forecasts based on aggregated forecasts from key customers
•       Support customers in understanding product selection within catalogue
•       Represent CLASP at trade shows globally

Requirements:
•       Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field
•       Minimum four years of experience in business development or sales
•       Minimum two years experience with international related sales or programming
•       Demonstrated success in developing and implementing business plans
•       Demonstrated ability with finance issues involved in the role
•       Mission-driven with clear determination to generate financial and social impact
•       Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems
•       Strong communication skills both orally and written
•       Self-motivated and self-directed, with ability to work independently and initiate new activities
•       Team player attitude and demonstrated leadership skills
•       Commitment to the mission of UCP Wheels and a desire to positively impact both beneficiaries and the organizations trajectory
•       Experience living and working in a developing country preferred
•       General knowledge of medical device industry, wheelchair companies, wheelchair technology and/or rehabilitation is preferred
•       Approximately 20% international travel is required
•       Chinese and/or Spanish preferred

Compensation/Benefits:
Base $45,000 – $65,000 commensurate with experience + sales commission; + Health, Dental, Vision
