Briter is seeking a strategically-minded Growth and Partnerships Lead to drive platform subscription growth, identify prospects, manage commercial relationships with clients, and build high-leverage partnerships across emerging markets. This role is ideal for someone who has previously owned user growth or revenue metrics at a fast-moving company and is confident setting up systems, refining GTM strategy, and executing with minimal oversight.

You’ll join a lean team and report directly to the COO, with high visibility into company priorities and a clear path to build and lead the function over time. You will work closely with the Management, Marketing, and Product teams to translate audience engagement into measurable growth. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that demands creativity, initiative, and deep familiarity with the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

1 – User and client growth

– Develop and execute strategies that convert our audience into active users and paying subscribers. This includes analysing how users interact with our content and platform, identifying gaps or friction points, and crafting solutions, from redesigning onboarding flows to piloting new outreach messages.
– Tailor acquisition tactics for key audience segments (e.g., investors, researchers, DFIs), aligning messaging and entry points to their specific needs, while continuously testing conversion tactics.

2 – Strategic partnerships

– Proactively identify and nurture partnerships with ecosystem actors (accelerators, funds, universities, newsletters, events) that can unlock new audiences, reinforce Briter’s credibility, and bring in new users through trusted channels.
– Design and negotiate co-branded initiatives, affiliate schemes, or distribution agreements that support win-win goals, and manage these relationships over time to ensure mutual value and consistent performance.

3 – Campaigns and commercial strategy

– Collaborate with the content and comms teams to build high-impact go-to-market campaigns that align with new platform features, report launches, or timely topics. You’ll define target audiences, messaging angles, and outreach strategy.
– Refine and update sales materials, product decks, and outbound messaging so that they clearly communicate our value proposition across different user types, from first-time users to recurring clients.

4 – Metrics, reporting & iteration

– Monitor the full funnel performance using CRM tools, analytics dashboards, and qualitative feedback to understand what’s working and where drop-offs occur. Use these insights to guide your next set of campaigns or experiments.
– Build and maintain a simple reporting structure with clear KPIs (conversion rates, CAC, pipeline health), share learnings with the wider team, and conduct regular reviews to ensure growth is consistent and intentional.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (hybrid); local and international travel involved. The candidate must have legal right to work in Kenya.
Type: Full-time
Experience: 4–7 years’ experience
Application Deadline: June 20th

Requirements

– 3–6 years of experience in growth, commercial strategy, user acquisition, or partnerships, ideally within a platform, SaaS, insights, or content-driven organisation.
– Demonstrated success in designing and executing growth strategies, optimising funnels, or building commercial relationships that led to measurable results.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in representing an organisation externally and building rapport with clients, partners, and prospects.
– Proficiency with CRMs (e.g. Hubspot), marketing automation tools, and basic web analytics. Ability to use data to make decisions and communicate results clearly.
– Deep interest in Africa and emerging markets’ innovation, investment, and development ecosystems
– An understanding of Briter’s mission to make data more visible, accessible, and actionable to boost socio-economic growth.
– Experience in a remote or fast-paced team, or a history of working across multiple countries or sectors.
