The Guatemala Operations Lead will work primarily with the Adelante CFO & Head of Guatemalan Operations to manage Adelante operations and production in Pastores, Guatemala.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated and capable of operating in a fast paced environment with minimal oversight. The individual should be knowledge hungry and mission-driven. Production management experience is preferred but not necessary. We are a young and growing company and are looking for an individual with the desire and drive to grow with Adelante.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Team Management
Work closely with production manager to ensure that production runs smoothly and production goals are met
Work with production manager to refine and implement recruitment process for onboarding new shoemakers
Work with the production manager to develop trainings for new craftsmen
Implement product development efforts, working with designer and craftsmen
Provide leadership to team Guatemala (craftsmen, admin, management)

Sourcing and Logistics
Manage order fulfillment, craftsmen workflow,  and shipping logistics
Develop relationships with raw material providers
Monitor and manage raw material and product inventory
Travel to the source to scout materials

Legal and Accounting
Oversee accounting activities, including payroll in Guatemala
Work with our Guatemala legal team to ensure proper structures as business grows

International Collaboration
Work closely with US team (Adelante CFO & Head of Guatemalan Operations in particular) on customer service & order tracking
Work closely with US team to scale production capacity
Work with US accounting to manage budget and improve financial controls

Time Frame & Workshop Hours
4 month trial period starting 12/1 with 2 year subsequent commitment
Workshop will be open Monday through Friday, and half day on Saturday
Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis

US$1,500/month pay during trial period
US$30,000 salary for year one, with potential for year two raise*
Three weeks vacation time

We connect our customers with the craftsman who made their shoes from the point of sale to the delivery of product, and communicate our impact on the shoemaker and his family. Our shoes are size, color, and style customizable, and we pay our craftsmen over twice the fair trade wage requirement in Guatemala.
