In addition to investing in companies we also work with them to support their growth and their ability to impact on poverty reduction. Created by our Impact team, one of the ways we do this is through the implementation of our new and cutting-edge social performance and customer insights data service called Lean Data.
Lean Data an approach to measurement designed specifically for social enterprises helps build more impactful businesses by providing them with data on social performance, customer feedback and behaviour. Using low-cost technology and methods, Lean Data gathers high-quality data quickly and efficiently, directly from end-customers. To date, the Impact team has surveyed over 25,000 customers across more than seven countries globally. Responsibilities of the Impact Analyst will range from project coordination to thought partnership in driving the value of Lean Data throughout India.
This is position is located within the India Impact team and will help to significantly improve the speed and quality of Lean Data execution. You will report directly to Acumen’s India Impact lead, and in partnership with them coordinate the activities of a research company and independent researchers. You will work in close collaboration with a range of other data service providers and companies to whom Acumen has close links with. You will also interact with a wider, global impact team located across New York, London, and Africa. The role will afford opportunities for front line data collection, project management, and interaction with some of the world’s most exciting and impactful social enterprises located across India.
This Impact Analyst position will be a three-month trial period with the opportunity for extension for a further 18-21 months depending on a successful initial trial period. This position is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of work experience who is eager to grow, learn and be part of a global organization.
Who You Are
First and foremost, you are eager to learn and you are an enthusiastic team player. You enjoy a fast-paced work environment and the careful management and execution of multiple projects at a time. You are able to follow processes carefully and implement new ones when necessary but you also sufficiently confident to spot areas for improvement and act on your initiative. You are comfortable working in Excel and PowerPoint and have experience in data analysis. You are energetic and passionate about Acumen’s mission, and you are excited to grow by working in an innovative, collaborative work environment.
Key responsibilities (Indicative, but not limited to):
Managing execution of Lean Data projects:
+ Preparing projects including drafting the initial survey script and incorporating feedback from companies
+ Working with the research team to start the project execution, will include training on the project, execution plan and contracting
+ Creating an Excel database with the correct logic flow, instructions, dropdown menus and quality control functions
+ Experimenting with methods and technologies to increase the efficiency of Lean Data projects
+ Assist in building quarterly pipeline for Lean Data projects
Day-to-day management of researcher company/personnel across India:
+ Manage research, track progress, conduct data quality checks, and perform status updates for all ongoing projects
+ Understanding challenges faced during projects and altering executing plan as needed
Data analysis, interpretation and storytelling:
+ Conduct basic analysis on qualitative and quantitative data collected during surveys
+ Create presentations that tell a compelling story and spur actionable insights
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint; demonstrated ability to clean, manipulate and analyze data
+ Must be eligible to work in India. Acumen India will not be able to assist applicants in procuring an employment visa
Acumen offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. Acumen India will cover costs for domestic work related travel.
