At GOGLA they’re looking for a Investor Engagement Project Manager to join their team,
a thought-leader with climate finance and impact investment expertise to support their efforts to raise capital for the off-grid solar industry.About the job
The Project Manager will have a good understanding of the investor landscape in the off-grid solar sector, and a clear vision on how to attract new investors. The main aim of the Project Manager is to support the team in the advocacy for increased flows of investment via the mapping, prioritization, and outreach of new investor groups that are currently not involved in the space. Additionally, The GOGLA Investment Summit is taking place in December 2021, and you will be responsible for the development of content and outreach to new investors to ensure that these previously identified new stakeholder groups are actively involved and establish long term relationships with the off-grid solar sector and GOGLA.Capital flows in the off-grid solar sector need to at least triple to achieve SDG-7 targets: GOGLA’s role is to advocate for increased and more adequate flows of investment to achieve Sustainable Development worldwide. In 2021, they are creating momentum around COP-26, High level Dialogues and the GOGLA Investment Summit while connecting the dots between bold climate action (SDG-14) and the end of energy poverty (SDG-7).

Location: Europe, Africa or Asia (Compatible with European time zone preferred).
Reporting to: Head of Performance & Investment
Duration: 6 months (part-time)
– If the applicant is based in the Netherlands/UK and is applying for a staffing contract (maternity cover): This job will be based on a 30 hour work-week.
– If the applicant is based in other countries and/or applying as a consultant: It is expected that this work can be completed in approximately 40 and 65 in person-days depending on the seniority of the consultant. Senior consultants are expected to dedicate less days to the assignment, and this should be considered when submitting a proposal.
Timeline: Between May 30th and December 17th 2021.

Core tasks:
– Develop an investor stakeholder mapping and prioritization strategy for GOGLA to achieve the off-grid solar industry’s funding targets, including but not limited to Climate Financiers, MFIs, Foundations, Impact Financiers, VCs, etc. This roadmap will include both the identification of new investors and the alignment of the key messages of the industry with the investment priorities of these new investor groups, as well as how these investors would fit the existing industry needs for funding in terms of company size, stage and investment instruments.
– Project Management of an investor focused online event in December: Content creation, speaker outreach and team coordination for the delivery of 3-4 sessions of the event that will be focused on new sources of finance in the sector. New funding streams identified in the mapping exercise are expected to take part in this event, so that the industry can increase its profile and reach new investor audiences.
– Outreach of new audience/investor groups towards High Level Energy Dialogues, COP-26 and other events.

About you:
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation of experience and expertise and that includes:

-A master’s degree in economics, business, finance, or other relevant fields
– A minimum of six years’ work experience
– Experience in the investment space (preferable in developing countries) and good understanding of the investor landscape in the off-grid solar or relevant field such as financial inclusion and start up space.
– A high level of passion for GOGLA’s mission and objectives.
– Solid knowledge of the off-grid solar sector and their members’ work, including investment trends, risks, and opportunities in different markets is preferred.
