The Strategic Development Alliance (SDA) is an Accra based NGO dedicated to improving the lives of smallholder farmers located in Ghana. SDA understands the Ghanaian agricultural value chain as well as the key players, and to date has successfully completed a number of training and consulting projects. They are currently staffed by Ghanaians, but do have an international Board of Directors.
SDA has recently conceived two key initiatives that will for now complement the organization’s existing development work and will eventually become the NGO’s core projects. Both initiatives will leverage technology to help small holder farmers in cultivation and information sharing.
The SDA is seeking a Managing Director to be based at the Accra Office for a time period of 1 year.
The Managing Director must have the passion and capacity to lead an emerging NGO’s development from conception to implementation. They must be able to develop full operation models, fundraise, establish partnerships, hire staff/sub-contractors as needed, manage finances, and provide strategic direction for SDA’s long term growth plan. Fluency in written and verbal English is required.
They must also have experience and/or a strong interest in the following areas:
– Sustainable business development
– Technology for development
– Social impact (non-profit or for-profit)
Preference will be given to those who have lived or traveled in West Africa, as those applying must be comfortable with living in the capital city of Accra and traveling to more rural locations for research and relationship building.
