This is a critical leadership role in one of the world’s most successful organisations working to reduce poverty in the developing world.

As iDE UK’s Managing Director, you will lead efforts from the UK to reach another 20 million people with iDE products and services.  You will contribute your ideas and perspective to this ambitious goal, shaping a future direction of the organisation.

You will join the core team of a growing organisation and continue the trajectory.  You will work with a team of energetic professionals who are results oriented and pursuing excellence.

You have years of experience in the private sector, market-based development and / or social enterprise sector.  In addition to leadership and management skills, you will excel in one or more functional areas such as fundraising, business development, technical writing, or thought leadership.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspire donors, supporters, staff, volunteers and partners to achieve the mission and goals of iDE globally and in the UK.

Work closely with the Board of Trustees to refine and implement an ambitious strategy as well as meeting all legal and statutory requirements.

Create dialogue with experts in international development and social enterprise, promoting the work and approach of iDE.  Represent iDE as a facilitator and/or speaker at events.

Allocate and manage resources to advance the strategic plan. Build your team with available resources: Attract and retain talent, promoting a culture of innovation, risk taking, and learning.

Build deep professional relationships with our global team to gain trust and encourage clear, effective interactions between offices in different cultural contexts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-country experience and expertise in market-based development and/or social enterprises.
Experience of building high level, productive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders; High levels of diplomacy.

Knowledge and experience of non-profit organisations and NGOs, grant making, fundraising and donor reporting; Budgeting and financial management experience.

Strategic, business and operational planning and proven ability to deliver objectives.
Personal presence, persuasiveness and gravitas; Public speaking experience and ability inspire staff to deliver our strategy.

Initiative, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision (and the wisdom to consult when necessary); Ability to recognize opportunity and the entrepreneurial flair to act upon it.

The ability to work under pressure on a range of diverse tasks, meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities.

Ability and flexibility to travel extensively; Right to work in the UK.

Highly desirable but not essential: Experience of living and working in the global south; French, Spanish, or Portuguese language abilities.
