Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • In terms of a learning perspective, an intern will be able to get an exposure to microfinance in terms of how data, quantitative methodologies and other technological tools can be applied to the financial inclusion sector
  • An Intern will participate in researching microfinance market/social ventures, aggregating data at macro and micro-level, business development activities for microfinance institutions and/or social enterprises, and attending relevant industry conferences
  • The Senior Executive will be interacting with and train an intern on microfinance, analytical tools, research methods
  • Can work two to four days in the office depending on availability of the intern
  • The entire team including an intern will be working at Impact Hub Phnom Penh, a nice co-working space located at the heart of the city
  • Impact Hub Phnom Penh is a co-working space, a business incubator, a social enterprise builder and above all, a community of like-minded people who believe they can make the world a better place
  • This position is NOT to be compensated since the company is in early stage as a startup but will provide opportunities to develop skills in diverse regards


  • Bachelor degree in Business, International Development, Policy-related disciplines, Quantitative fields including Statistics, or engineering including Computer Science;
  • Strong motivation to work in the financial inclusion sector including microfinance for his/her future career development and also be able to enjoy living in developing countries like Cambodia;
  • Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Comfortable understanding and handling financial language and numeric data;
  • Can-do attitude and proactive approach towards his/her responsibility particularly within a small and young environment where things constantly change.
