Nuru International is accepting applications for a Monitoring and Evaluation Program Specialist to support field staff working in Rural Livelihoods, Education, Health, and Leadership at our Nuru Project in Ethiopia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Work closely with the M&E Program Strategic Advisor to implement Nuru International M&E Strategy
Manage data collection and metrics according to Nuru International standards:
Assist staff with understanding and strengthening systems for collection, analysis and reporting of operational and impact program metrics
Assist with maintenance and refinement of logic models, resulting program metrics, operational metrics and data collection plans
Develop and field-test data collection tools
Mentor and help to develop the Ethiopian M&E team supporting independent decision making of the team in line with Nuru International M&E strategic priorities
Improve data quality control processes for impact evaluations
Work with Nuru International and Nuru Ethiopia M&E teams to ensure data collection and evaluation strategies can effectively measure and attribute impact to Nuru Ethiopia’s programs
Advise the Team Leader on all M&E-related matters
Ensure effective coordination between the M&E team and all other teams to ensure smooth execution of data collection and reporting
Ensure that the M&E team maintains a high standard and quality for all reporting – internal and external to Nuru Ethiopia
Train NE M&E team on inferential statistics and Stata
Assist the Team Leader and Nuru Ethiopia  with data-driven decision-making
Perform data analysis & support field staff with ability to perform data analysis, using statistical software (Stata and Excel)
Support feedback loops for reporting of data to impact programs and other appropriate stakeholders
Provide data in a format for ease of use
Advise local NE teams on monitoring systems and indicators
Collect and aggregate quarterly performance monitoring data from Impact and Leadership programs for Nuru International
Assist the NE M&E Manager to maintain the NE M&E budget and to hit quarterly and annual targets for the team
Mentor the NE M&E Manager to grow his/her leadership and management style
Act as M&E Liaison between Nuru International and Nuru Ethiopia
Provide field perspective on M&E strategy and plans
Manage collection of weekly Nuru Operational Updates from Foundation Team
Conduct special projects and general administrative duties as assigned
Collaborate effectively with M&E Program Strategic Advisor and Team Leader
Collaborate effectively with the Foundation Team and the local team

Required Skills and Attributes:
Graduate degree (either MA or MBA) and with 2-3 years of work experience
Course work in Monitoring and Evaluation
Ability to do crisis management and rapid, innovative problem solving in uncertain environments
Prior experience living and/or working in a developing country; experience in working with the poor
Strong work ethic
Strong quantitative data analysis skills and project management skills
Strong commitment to organization’s mission, vision and theory of change
Coursework and 2 years of experience in using inferential statistics
Coursework and 2 years of experience in utilizing Stata and excel to analyze data a must
