The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation is currently interviewing for a Program Officer Role. The Program Officer would work in the New Delhi based Liaison office team under the leadership of the Country Director, India and report into the Director, Family Economic Stability (FES). This position would primarily focus on building and supporting our current grants and investments portfolio, and play a senior, leadership role in several of the Foundation’s India activities.
In addition, and as a result of our small organizational size and broad scope of work, each Michael & Susan Dell Foundation employee assumes a highly visible role in the work of the foundation and, as such, also assumes an important and unique responsibility for the effective articulation and communication of the foundation’s priorities and work.
The Program Officer will have an opportunity to engage with a wide variety of audiences ranging from investees, grantees, co-funder’s, bankers, raters, consultants & policymakers to the Founders and Board Members of the Foundation. We look for candidates who have demonstrated strong business acumen, leadership in operations, top notch interpersonal and communication skills, and who possess the maturity and judgment to be an effective representative of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. The successful candidate will not only have the ability to offer effective solutions to complex problems of urban poverty, and the critical challenges faced by our existing and potential investees and grantees, but will also be able to quickly and concisely communicate complex ideas in engaging ways.
The specifics of the position are summarized below:
Reports to : Director, Family Economic Stability, India Michael and Susan Dell Foundation
Purpose: Independently build and lead a projects portfolio that delivers measurable (and sustainable) positive impact on children through various interventions, play a senior, leadership role in several of the Foundation’s activities in India, facilitate the overall program implementation of MSDF India (with a fanatical eye for detail), and emerge as a thought leader for the Foundation.
Education / Experience: Professional / Masters qualification from a leading university / institute with 8 – 12 years of work experience in a multinational or leading Indian business entity. Experience in Investments, Consulting, Operations or Strategic Project Management would be desirable. Desirable competencies for the role include demonstrated ability to think conceptually using strong analytical skills, effectively influence a wide cross-section of people across organizations, and to identify and implement solutions to address complex business problems
