Policy experts on the Trust and Safety Policy team lead complex multi-stakeholder policy initiatives including the Universal Code of Conduct project, work on policy issues affecting governance of the platform, and partner with other T&S personnel, community and expert stakeholders, Legal, and Public Policy on policy development and implementation assurance. Policy staff will also collaborate with the Trust and Safety Operations team, led by the Senior Manager, Legal Trust Safety Operations, to maintain and staff the system in place to deal with threats of suicide and violence on Foundation projects and, as needed and available, assist that group in evaluating reactive or incident-based reports of harassment, safe spaces violations or similar concerns.

A successful Trust and Safety Project Manager will work with our Trust and Safety Policy team to make sure that initiatives stay on track, be responsible for organizing and creating processes around policy creation, implementation and release, as well as supporting collaboration with other Trust and Safety and Foundation teams.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Trust and Safety Policy.

You are responsible for:

Partnering with the Trust and Safety Policy Team Senior Manager to oversee and maintain project timelines for the team
Serveingas a thought partner to Trust and Safety Policy Team Senior Manager by framing project or program decisions with actionable analysis, critical thinking, and strategic recommendations.
Creating templates and standards that streamline communications between team members and stakeholders to meet deadlines, produce necessary work products, and achieve team goals.
Ensuring that the Policy team communicates timely and relevant updates about team priorities, projects, and developments to stakeholders within the team, department, and company.
Researching and reporting on issues related to community resilience and growth, which may include working to identify, develop, and implement program or policy solutions in collaboration with community, appropriate staff, and external organizations.
Collaborating closely with other Trust and Safety staff in evaluating, processing and appropriately escalating inappropriate content and threats against the safety of volunteers or the public. This work involves coordinating with other staff in team rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for emergencies. This work may include evaluating threats of self-violence or terrorism, or processing inappropriate imagery, including imagery involving minors.

Skills and Experience:

Experience maintaining projects in JIRA, Asana, or similar.
Experience with Incident Response, as well as Content Policy or Content Moderation .
Passionate about and have a deep understanding of global online safety and abuse matters.
Experience overseeing a complex set of internal engagement projects for functions & teams, both individually and collectively for a team.
Experience working with external stakeholders such as Engineering, Product, Operations or Public Policy.
Team player who cares deeply about his/her/their own work and also helps colleagues succeed.
Strong critical and contextual thinking skills with a bias toward action in ambiguous situations.
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to communicate compassionately and professionally with key stakeholders in styles ranging from precisely detailed to clear and simple, depending on context.
Emotionally mature and self-reliant; tolerates ambiguity and maintains positive, respectful professional relationships.
Resilience in dealing with difficult subject matter.
Additionally, we’d love it if you have:

Experience with Threat Modeling and Risk Assessments.
Experience and/or training in people management (volunteer capacity applies) or mediation.
Experience working with online communities/volunteers.
Experience with CRM and ticketing systems, such as Zendesk.
