Educate! has an exciting Fellowship opportunity available for a strategic thinker interested in recruitment and talent management at a fast-growing, award-winning social enterprise. As the Recruitment & Talent Management Fellow, you’ll help build systems to recruit and manage top talent as well as tap into opportunities to bring on additional Fellows who can support Educate!’s expansion in Uganda and even internationally.


Our top priority as an organization is scaling in Uganda and expanding to new countries. In Uganda, we took a big leap in 2014 from 54 to 238 schools and over 80,000 students. We are now laying the groundwork for international expansion starting with Rwanda (we signed an Memorandum of Understanding with the government this year), Kenya, and Cameroon.


Our human resources needs are growing with the organization, and we need a smart, organized, and passionate Fellow who can support our fantastic HR team in Uganda as well as our global team to think strategically about our recruitment processes, help manage staff training and reviews, and build out our volunteer and Fellowship programs.



Recruitment Support

  • *Work closely with HR department and outside consultants to hire top performers who can help us meet and exceed our expansion goals
  • *Strengthen recruitment processes to ensure that Educate! is at the top of our game in sourcing, identifying, and hiring top talent and that our recruitment processes reflect our organizational culture

Fellowship and Skilled Volunteer Programs

  • *Think strategically about how Educate! can best leverage fellowships and volunteer programs to meet organizational needs, including supporting our management teams to identify needs and building the partnerships to fill them with great people
  • *Build support structures for fellows and volunteers to ensure that every person who works for Educate! on a short-term basis would recommend it to their network

Staff Development

  • *Design and execute trainings for our high-performing team in Uganda on a range of topics, such as efficient work systems
  • *Work with HR to plan for future staff development and training needs
  • *Manage our annual review process and work with HR to ensure that systems are in place for future reviews

Support Global Team Recruitment

  • *Build our internal expertise on recruitment best practices
  • *Support our global recruitment and talent management, including recruitment support for the top-tier Global Team we are building to lead international expansion
  • Qualifications:
    • *2+ years work experience
    • *Experience in HR, Recruiting, or Professional Development strongly preferred
    • *Able to think creatively and strategically about recruiting and capacity-building
    • *Independent self-starter who will tenaciously do what it takes to get the job done

    • Terms:
      • *Located in our office in Kampala, Uganda alongside our 70 member team
      • *Monthly stipend to cover living expenses in Kampala
      • *Benefits include accommodation in Educate!’s shared staff house, a round-trip flight to Uganda, and travel health insurance
      • One year commitment strongly preferred
