Developing World Markets (DWM) specializes in asset management for microfinance and other socially positive businesses in developing countries. DWM seeks a dynamic Spanish-speaking analyst for its Risk Management team, who will join a growing number of finance professionals with a strong social mission and commitment to sustainable economic development. The analyst will report directly to the Director of Risk and assist in the credit risk analysis and proper monitoring of DWM’s current investments, including developing models for the collection and analysis of financial data. This will be a full time salaried position located in Stamford, CT.


•       Perform due diligence, credit risk and financial analysis on financial institutions across emerging and frontier markets
•       Monitor and analyze the financial performance of portfolio companies to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of DWM’s investments in such companies
•       Assist in the creation, development and upkeep of the firm’s financial and credit analysis models, portfolio management systems, and processes
•       Conduct macroeconomic analysis on the countries & currencies in which DWM has exposure or may consider investing
•       Perform social impact analysis on the firm’s various investment portfolios for use in internal and investor related reporting
•       Contribute as an enthusiastic member of the DWM team; taking the lead in various organizational tasks in support of portfolio management
•       In addition to above, flexibility to support other teams as needed


•       Strong ability to conduct financial and economic analysis; previous experience or background in accounting, finance and/or economics preferred
•       Proficiency with database and spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Access
•       Experience with Excel modeling
•       Prior experience with computer programming languages (VBA, SQL, etc.) preferred
•       Written and spoken fluency in Spanish strongly preferred
•       Excellent written and verbal communication skills; specifically the ability to present and communicate complex ideas and analysis to a variety of audiences
•       A college degree with strong academic performance
•       Commitment to social and economic development
•       Proof of ability to work in the U.S.
