The NYC Tech Talent Pipeline (TTP) is the City of New York’s tech Industry Partnership, launched in 2014 by Mayor Bill de Blasio to support the growth of the NYC tech ecosystem by delivering quality jobs for New Yorkers and quality talent for the city’s businesses.

The NYC Tech Talent Pipeline is an initiative of the Workforce Development Corporation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that works closely with the New York City Department of Small Business Services to contribute to the economic vitality of the City by promoting workforce development and job creation through public and private partnerships.

Driven by a network of 250+ tech employers, TTP works with public and private partners to define industry needs, develop solutions to meet these needs, and bring what works to scale, preparing New Yorkers across the five boroughs to secure and succeed in 21st century jobs. Examples of our collaborative work to date include:

● Enhancing a world-class higher education pipeline: A new Mayoral initiative to double tech bachelors by 2022 via a $20M collaboration with industry & NYC colleges
● Expanding effective, industry-aligned accelerated training for all New Yorkers: Support for educators looking to deliver a broader community of New Yorkers into in-demand roles including through new and expanded tech education and training programs designed to surface what works
● Mobilizing New Yorkers across the five boroughs: 12,000+ New Yorkers driven to action by a 5-borough mobilization campaign delivered together with industry
● Delivering qualified talent into in-demand jobs: TTP alumni are fueling the growth of the NYC tech economy through jobs at Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Spotify, and others

Building on this success, TTP is seeking an ambitious and innovative leader to define and drive the City’s efforts to remove financial barriers to tech training. Expanding upon existing foundational research, partnerships, data, and resources, the Senior Advisor for Economic Mobility will work with partners to deliver sustainable and scalable financing solutions that will open doors to more New Yorkers looking to launch rewarding careers in NYC’s tech ecosystem.
● Help drive TTP’s work to deliver quality jobs for New Yorkers and quality talent for the City’s businesses, including by helping to define key strategies for increasing access to careers
● Define, develop, and lead the execution of the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline’s strategy to unlock access to effective tech education
● Build and refine financial models using relevant and widely used industry tools, formats, and standard practices; analyze potential scenarios and recommend deployable solutions based on TTP strategic goals and desired outcomes
● Catalyze and grow relationships with key stakeholders including training partners, companies, internal teams, City officials, and financial institutions,
● Manage implementation of multi-partner solutions in accordance with clear goals, metrics, reporting requirements, and learning objectives
● Clearly communicate goals, technical considerations, and implementation requirements to a diversity of audiences, including translating complex concepts to non-technical audiences
● Work closely with TTP team members to ensure solutions align with additional priorities including, but not limited to, capacity building goals for NYC training providers
● Produce written material for internal and external consumers
● Contribute to the development of TTP’s broader strategic priorities and support other team members, when needed, in delivering on high-priority goals

● Passion for building catalytic solutions to expansive systemic challenges, with a bias for long-term, large-scale impact
● Demonstrated commitment to removing barriers for underserved populations including low-income individuals
● Experience delivering high-quality products in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
● Ability to work independently, including under uncertain or ambiguous external conditions
● Proven track record of mobilizing a diversity of stakeholders towards a common goal, preferably in a senior or externally-facing role
● Knowledge of lending institution practices and processes, including but not limited to underwriting, collection, and ROI determination, preferably via first-hand experience
● Proficiency in excel including financial modeling
● Previous experience managing projects executed by internal teams and/or external vendors in accordance with clear goals and agreed upon outcomes
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Experience designing and deploying innovative financial solutions, preferably in the field of education or training and/or at a broad scale a plus
