B Lab is seeking a Senior Associate to serve as an account manager for the largest, leading companies in the B Economy. This role will sit on our growing US and Canadian team to support large companies in leveraging their B Corp certification, developing ongoing leadership opportunities to build awareness, and driving deeper participation in the movement.
Core Job Functions
Serve as an account manager for a portfolio of large, leading Certified B Corporations by:
Supporting the onboarding of newly Certified B Corporations through intentional project and relationship management, inspiring a thoughtful internal and external certification announcement to catalyze deep ongoing engagement and inspire their long term leadership in the community
Building close relationships with a portfolio of existing Certified B Corporations understanding their core needs, providing the appropriate resources, connections, and opportunities in order to deepen their engagement and drive indispensability of the certification.
Facilitating strategic conversations with leadership of your portfolio of Certified B Corporations to inspire, identify, and then implement mutually beneficial opportunities for companies to use their leadership to build awareness of the movement, drive impact improvement within their own and other organizations, and foster community.
In addition to account management, you will be collaborative and consultative with internal B Lab partners including, but not limited to, the following ways:
Partner with other Key Account Managers to identify and elevate requests for new resources and opportunities that would better equip key accounts and the broader B Corp community to make the certification indispensable, improve their impact, and inspire others to participate in the movement.
Advise B Lab’s CMO and Marketing team in the development of resources and opportunities to help companies better communicate their certification, build awareness and inspire others to participate in the movement
Collaborate with the Community Activation team to craft leadership opportunities for key account Certified B Corporations to inspire broader participation in the movement, foster community, and drive impact improvement.
Core Skills & Capacities
Preferred Qualifications Include:
5 – 7 years of experience working with businesses or complex organizations
Consulting, corporate or account management background with strong track record of managing both relationships and projects
Excels in relationship management with ability to establish and navigate relationships with individuals at all levels of seniority within an organization
Strong facilitation skills, excellent listener
Willingness and ability to set long term strategic goals with company leaders that support company’s goals and growth of the movement.
Able to connect dots and identify broader themes in needs and opportunities
Ability to assess opportunities, think creatively about new opportunities/identify opportunities for creative collaboration or leverage of influence
Excellent follow through to keep momentum towards long term goals
Detail and process oriented in order to balance many moving pieces at once
Experience drafting marketing materials and communications
Familiarity with Certified B Corporations a strong plus
Willingness to travel 10-20% of time, depending on location
Experience working with underrepresented entrepreneurs including women, people of color, or LGBTQ+ founders
Annual salary of $55,000-$65,000 (depending on location and experience) plus excellent benefits. In addition to your salary, you’ll also receive medical, vision and dental coverage; 40 hours paid time off for community service; paid parental leave; and professional development support after your first year of employment. In your first year, you’ll start with 3 weeks of vacation. This role reports to the Head of Account Management.
