The Strategic Partnerships team leads this effort, working with companies including Unilever, GE, Barclays, Pfizer, MetLife, Dow, EY, Bain, Mitsubishi, and others to help support social enterprises and develop more inclusive and sustainable business models. Through convenings, knowledge sharing, and individual customized bilateral and multilateral partnerships, the Strategic Partnerships team engages with corporations and the broad social enterprises community to drive meaningful impact in the lives of the poor. The Strategic Partnerships team is a center of excellence for Acumen, working across functions in the organizations to support best practices in corporate partnershps, so this role offers an opportunity to gain exposure to every facet of Acumen’s work.

Position Summary

The Summer Associate will help the Strategic Partnerships team research corporations, evaluate new partnership opportunities, and manage current corporate partnerships. Each of our partnerships involve a range of engagement activities that include communications, event planning, employee engagement, reporting, and facilitation of relationships with our portfolio companies.

In follow up to convenings held in January and April of 2018, we will be exploring a range of new partnership opportunities as well as supporting direct connections between corporations and social enterprises.

Our team also hosts events and presents at conferences to share lessons learned from our work and identify new potential partners. The Summer Associate will support our efforts to develop content and research new partnership opportunities from these events.

He or she may also be asked to assist with an annual assessment of current partnerships, working with a variety of relationship managers to better understand how we are delivering against our goals with each partner and across the organization.

More specifically, you may have the opportunity to:
+       Conduct research into corporations, their sustainability and philanthropy strategies, and new opportunities for partnership with Acumen
+       Interview relationship managers to support annual assessment of corporate partnerships
+       Prepare presentations and research for attendance of SP team members at key conferences
+       Join internal teams to work with current and prospective partners on partnership and engagement opportunities
+       Support reporting and proposals for current and new corporate partnerships

+       First-year MBA candidate
+       Experience working in a large corporation or working with large corporations as a core component of a previous role
+       Strong ability to take initiative with research and analysis and produce valuable results in conditions of uncertainty
+       Experience in business development or account management
+       Strong writing and presentation skills

$650 per week, for 10-12 weeks
