The International Executive Service Corps (IESC) is a U.S.-based nonprofit that seeks private enterprise solutions to problems of poverty in developing countries and around the world. By deploying a mix of technical assistance and volunteer expert support, IESC works with emerging industries, financial institutions, and governments to stabilize economic environments, increase opportunity, and promote growth.

IESC is seeking a technical specialist in financial inclusion to assist with new business/proposal development and program technical support on a consulting basis. The technical specialist (hereinafter “consultant”) will work closely with IESC’s  new business team and the Financial Services practice to respond to RFPs/RFAs issued by USAID and other donors as assigned as well as contribute to program reporting. The consultant will offer in-depth knowledge and will be responsible for providing background information of countries as well as applicable solutions in the target technical areas. The consultant will serve as lead or support technical writer for proposals and programmatic reports and develop feasible and relevant strategies and implementation plans in response to solicitations and programmatic needs.

The technical fields where we seek talent include:


*SME Finance/Banking
*Agriculture finance/Value Chain finance
*Microfinance/ Financial Inclusion
*Impact investing/Emerging market investing
*Gender and/or youth strategies related to credit and savings, including entrepreneurial finance.


*Trade/export finance
*Digital finance/mobile banking
*Financial Education/Literacy/Health
*Private sector financing approaches in Clean Energy and Healthcare.

IESC intends to conclude a year-long indefinite quantity, independent consulting agreement, and IESC will contact the Consultant on an as-needed basis during the life of this agreement. Detailed scopes of work will be issued for each specific assignment.


*Excellent writing skills in English and proven capabilities in proposal development
*Demonstrated technical knowledge in at least one of the primary fields of expertise of access to finance mentioned above. (Please indicate which of the categories above you do have experience in. It is not required that you fulfill all categories.)
*Minimum five years of experience working in international development
*Experience with USAID and other donor proposal and procurement processes
*On-the-ground technical implementation experience preferred.
*Knowledge of other languages, especially French and Arabic is preferred.
