ABOUT EXPANDED SCHOOLS BY TASC (THE AFTER-SCHOOL CORPORATION)

TASC is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing all students with expanded learning opportunities that support, educate, and inspire them. Now in our second decade, we developed and are currently implementing a re-invention of the traditional school day. We call this effort ExpandED Schools.

ExpandED Schools work to give kids in public schools more time and a wider range of opportunities to learn. With at least 2.5 more hours of learning time each day, students in ExpandED Schools have more time for academic support, enrichment, the arts, physical activity, and STEM education.

We’ve seen early empirical success with this effort. ExpandED Schools are more academically challenging, more engaging, and keep kids safe. Students in our schools are outpacing peers in academics and social/emotional growth. As a result of these proof points, we are preparing our team and program for future growth.
