Impact Investing Buzz: GIIN and Toniic Mix with Growth Reports
The knock on impact investing – both within and outside of the industry – is the lack of long-term data and platforms to observe deals in a more transparent way. The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) and Toniic, arguably the industry’s most influential trade groups, both released studies designed to turn around some of those perceptions. The reports were unveiled at the GIIN Investor Forum 2016 on Wednesday in Amsterdam.

Impact investing in India could touch $6-8 billion by 2025: McKinsey
McKinsey & Co. says impact investing in India has the potential to grow from $1 billion worth of investments in 2015 to $6-8 billion by 2025. According to McKinsey, the Indian impact investment space has seen $4.1 billion worth of cumulative investments in the past six years. The pace of investment is growing at 15% annually, it said.

Pennsylvania Treasurer Timothy A. Reese today announced the launch of a $100 million impact investment initiative that will provide the "double-bottom line" benefit of providing a competitive rate of return while supporting state investments in affordable housing, small business, health and educational facilities, and infrastructure projects. Treasury will invest the funds through RBC Global Asset Management's (RBC GAM) Access Capital Community Investment Strategy which will design a portfolio of high-quality, securitized, fixed-income investments in Pennsylvania projects.
