India?s ’Biggest Entrepreneurial Event’ Set to Take Off Sept 30

New Delhi: The power of entrepreneurship and innovation to transform India into one of the leading economies of the world will be visible in full measure at the TiEcon Delhi 2011. The entrepreneurial event, among the biggest in Asia, begins on September 30 at Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi.

The annual flagship event of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Delhi-NCR chapter, will see over 1500 attendees listen to the first CK Prahalad Memorial Lecture, set up in memory of the renowned Michigan University Professor who foresaw the power of bottom of the pyramid and went on to co-author the global best seller by that name.

The memorial lecture will bring alive Prof C K Prahalad’s contribution to the field of social entrepreneurship and innovation-two values that will be discussed, debated and demonstrated though the 2-day conference that attracts celebrated thought leaders, successful entrepreneurs, budding entrepreneurs, students wishing to create jobs for others rather than look for one for themselves.

“Indian entrepreneurship is being recognized globally. The power of Indian innovation is proving its mettle world over. This sets the stage for the recognition of the power of Entrepreneurship in transforming India-the theme for this year’s event,” says Sanjeev Bikhchandani, President of TiE Delhi NCR, one of the largest among 57 chapters worldwide.

The eleventh TiECon will also see the TiE Institute conduct a series of parallel sessions to equip participants to come and face the hurdles during their entrepreneurial journey-from raising funds and managing finances to effective marketing strategies and attracting talent.
