Jenny was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, where her passion for helping others developed at an early age as a swim coach. She soon channeled this passion into the North Carolina EMT program and worked as EMT in her late high school years and early college years.

After graduating summa cum laude from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hillin 2004, Ms. O’Connormade her way out west with Teach for America. During her time withTeach for America, shedevoted herself toat risk youth,in both the Hunters Point area ofSan Francisco and Richmond, CA, settingup and implementing youth outreach programs and after-school programs.

She is a co-founder and currently acts as the development director of Groundwork Opportunities, works as the major gifts/donor relations officer at the San Francisco based non-profit, Amazon Watch.

Jenny is an avid tri-athlete, writer, and cook who loves to travel and is truly dedicated to the causes and people she serves. She hopes to continue tobe inspired by her peers and the communities in which she works at Groundwork Opportunities and Amazon Watch and make positive and lastingchangesin countries all over the world.
