Matthew Speh
Grameen Foundation

Matthew Speh is responsible for Grameen Foundation’s impact investment strategy, managing a portfolio of social enterprises and financial institutions that improve the economic livelihoods for the poor in ‘the Last Mile’. Before joining Grameen Foundation, he advised shareholders of Bank Anadara in the launch of a wholesale financial institution serving MFIs in Indonesia, and was also Director of Investments at MicroVest Capital Management, LLC, where he directed the origination, structuring and asset allocation of more than $60 million in debt and equity microfinance investments. He brings 20 years of capital markets and consulting experience in impact investing, microfinance, corporate banking, private equity, loan work-out, and budget management. Matthew currently serves on the Board of Directors for HoneyCare Africa as well as the Fairtrade Access Fund. He received a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, cum laude, from James Madison University, and an MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
