Join us in an exciting, IDRC & FCDO funded initiative organised by Infectious Diseases Institute and the African Population and Health Research Center to advance maternal, sexual, and reproductive health through the power of Artificial Intelligence.
This innovation challenge, brings together multidisciplinary teams of innovators, health professionals, and technologists to co-create ethical, inclusive, and scalable AI solutions that address critical challenges in maternal and reproductive health across Africa. This is a unique opportunity to work with real-world datasets, and develop solutions with the potential for real-world impact.
Participants will collaborate across one of the following challenge tracks:
Empowering Informed Contraceptive Choices & Early Pregnancy Loss Care
Selected teams from each track will showcase their solutions, after which a winning team from each track will be chosen based on their presentations. The winning teams will receive awards and an all expenses-paid opportunity to attend and present their solution at Data Science Africa (DSA), taking place from 23rd–24th July at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.
Teams must consist of 3 to 6 members and be multidisciplinary, with members from at least two fields, one in an IT-related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science) and one in a health-related field (e.g. Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Radiography). Your team should have atleast 2 women.
