Call for Expression of Interest: Financing for Nature-Positive Private Sector Enterprises in Central Africa under the Pro-Congo programme
Summary
UNCDF, under the Pro-Congo programme, is seeking Expressions of Interest from private enterprises operating in selected countries in the Congo Basin region (the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Gabon, Cameroon) to access blended financing and technical assistance for nature-positive, deforestation-free, and climate-resilient business models. The EOI targets MSMEs engaged in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, forest-industry transformation, landscape restoration, and ecotourism – aiming to mobilize private-sector investment that reduces emissions, protects biodiversity, and improves livelihoods. Eligible applicants may receive tailored financing through instruments such as reimbursable grants and concessional loans, complemented by customized technical support. Selected enterprises will undergo UNCDF’s investment and due-diligence process. The initiative seeks high-impact businesses capable of driving sustainable market development and contributing to long-term forest conservation outcomes across Central Africa.
