Patagonia supports environmental organizations with bold agendas, a focus on action, and a commitment to long-term change.
We support innovative work that addresses the root causes of the environmental crisis and seeks to protect both the environment and the affected communities. We focus on places where we have established a connection through our network of stores and outdoor activities.
We believe that local battles—to protect a community, a forest, a stretch of river, a sacred species of an indigenous people—foster public support and address even more complex conflicts, such as climate change or biodiversity loss.
We encourage work that brings underrepresented communities to the forefront of the environmental movement and defends those communities whose health and livelihoods are threatened by environmental exploitation.
We support multidimensional campaigns that promote greater awareness of environmental protection and encourage governments to comply with the laws.
Patagonia believes that the most direct path to real change is through the momentum of grassroots organizations.
Our funding focuses on organizations that have, or can build, a strong base of support. We fund less traditional groups that are willing to take risks; that’s where we believe our small grants are most effective.
Patagonia Argentina’s environmental donation program opens once a year, between July 1 and July 31.
The amounts to be allocated are variable and depend on multiple factors, but are generally between USD 8,000 and USD 12,000.
