The Investment Manager is an integral member of the Investments team and reports to the director of Impact Investments. The manager is responsible for implementing the Foundation’s program-related investment (PRI) strategy. Primary responsibilities include sourcing, structuring and monitoring investments as well as providing targeted grant support and technical assistance when appropriate. The manager will also support the impact investment portfolio as needed, including performance analyses and reporting.
As an integral member of the Foundation’s endowment management team, there will be opportunities to develop broad exposure to other asset classes in an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM-RELATED INVESTMENT STRATEGY
- Under the direction of the director of Impact Investments, develop opportunities to allocate debt, equity and guarantees in collaboration with program staff that advance the Foundation’s programmatic objectives.
- Conduct due diligence and analysis to assess prospective investment opportunities
- Propose investment structures to achieve financial and social impact objectives
- Write and present investment recommendations for approval
- Manage preparation and review of closing documentation
- Monitor PRI investments performance including quarterly and annual reporting, legal compliance, financial and impact performance analysis
- Attend manager meetings and share key developments and observations with Director and investment team as appropriate
- Support the development, management and monitoring of PRI related grants
**SUPPORT PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND REPORTING FOR IMPACT INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO **
- Draft portfolio reports and performance analyses
- Lead annual portfolio risk assessment
- Lead annual portfolio impact measurement and management process
- Coordinate with the director of Operations to manage portfolio operational functions (capital calls, modifications, reporting)
**ACT AS A LIAISON BETWEEN INVESTMENT TEAM AND PROGRAM STAFF **
- Coordinate program staff involvement in PRIs
- Educate program staff about impact investments and Casey’s investment process
- Staff internal committees and workgroups as required
- Participate in education and field-building activities related to impact investments
**INVESTMENT TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES **
- Participate in evaluation of potential investments in all asset classes. Remain current on investment practices, emerging trends, vehicle structures, and new managers through research, conferences, and meetings.
- Prepare reports, presentations, memos, investment summaries, and recommendations for the Foundation’s Trustees.
- Manage special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preference for advanced degree in business, finance, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in banking, finance, real estate, private equity or community development required.
- Demonstrated experience in underwriting debt and equity transactions. Experience in blended capital structures and private credit preferred.
- Working knowledge of and experience in at least one of the Foundation’s program areas of interest in which impact investments are made: community and economic development, financial inclusion, affordable housing and initiatives promoting family economic self-sufficiency.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed primarily in an office setting. This may require up to 30% travel.
COMPENSATION
This is an exempt position, meaning pay is on a salaried rather than hourly or daily basis.
