In Nigeria, we have over 600 solar installations with significant growth ambitions offering solar as a service to clients. PURPOSE OF ROLE: Achieve business objectives by providing expert commercial, market, and industry analysis, explore existing business model and advise on its performance and improvements, manage data collation for strategic commercial analysis. The Manager, Analytics (Commercial and Business Performance) supports the leadership team to define and drive strategic, tactical, and operational; business, and commercial activities. He/she will constantly monitor, evaluate, and benchmark commercial operations, and leverage insights to develop and propose actionable performance improvement plans that delivers commercial excellence and overall business growth (Nigeria and Ghana specifically).
- Develop and reinforce commercially focused projects pricing structure improvements with internal and external stakeholders and take a central role in complex negotiations using data to maximize outcomes.
- Take a central role in a team and lead a small team of commercial Analysts to ensure delivery of effective and commercially valuable solutions. Provide professional expertise, support, advice, develop and co-ordination to the team.
- Supports the West Africa Head of Commercial in implementing commercial strategy of the company.
- Ownership and commercial evaluation of distinct product offerings to the company’s diverse customer segments and develop various use cases to demonstrate product fit to our customers demonstrating value to them.
- Analyze extensively, existing pricing models and make recommendations to maximize commercial outcomes.
- Process owner to ensure the pricing of the commercial proposals meet the company’s minimum commercial hurdle rate.
- Act in the best interests of the company to manage customer-facing commercial activities/negotiations in respect of periodic price adjustment and contract renewal discussions.
- Integrate with the sales teams and establish relationship with key stakeholders in the sales teams.
- Continuously monitor key performance indicators and reports for measuring the capital efficiency and profitability of projects from cradle to end of term.
- Develop key operational processes for mitigating against commercial risks to the business by continuously monitoring and updating macroeconomic and energy related assumptions for new project assessment.
- Synthesize market and business research and develop options to maximize commercial returns.
- Support the Company’s Management Team by providing value adding analysis of operational issues.
- Manage the internal data gathering duties and extensive reporting on ongoing project. Reporting on energy consumptions split into sources and cost comparisons, including maintaining the integrity of the company data warehouse.
- Populate metrics on performance reporting, capital efficiency reports, RoR, RoE, Internal rate of return etc. and visuals for board presentations and periodic reporting. Including sustainability reporting
- Support the finance team by managing and maintaining the framework for management account reporting.
- Timely potential risk Identification, mitigation action plans and monitoring.
- Budget forecasts and annual budget preparation in collaboration with Finance, Sales, and Technical Leads
- Implementation of contractual commercial adjustments on pricing
- Product development support. testing of new technology and process improvement initiative across departments.
- Support IT functions and ensuring optimal cloud costs by monitoring server activities and negotiation with IT vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
- Must have Commercial B2B experience.
- Must have experience in building corporate pricing models and budgets from the scratch.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, management, and co-workers.
- Possesses strong problem-solving abilities to handle field inquiries.
- Proficient and Advanced in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail-Oriented, understanding of software and database systems.
- Familiarity with data query/data management tools will be extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
- CIMA qualification will be an added advantage.
