Supporting shared sensemaking in a time of disruption
The Transformations Community is hiring a Network Coordinator for a full-time role split evenly between two closely aligned initiatives:
* The Agora (Transformations Community) — a light-touch sensing and reflection infrastructure that helps practitioners stay oriented as transformation work unfolds amid ecological breakdown, institutional instability, and contested authority.
* The Inland Ocean Coalition — a network connecting inland communities to ocean health through its Ocean Ambassadors program.
This is not a program management or engagement-growth role. It is a relational coordination and sensemaking role, designed for someone who is comfortable working in uncertainty and helping others stay connected, perceptive, and grounded when familiar structures no longer hold.
What the role focuses on:
As Network Coordinator, you will:
* Support distributed sensing across a global community of sustainability researchers and practitioners
* Help useful signals move from individual noticing into shared reflection
* Maintain visibility into who is engaged, how participation is evolving, and where relational capacity exists across the community
* Use simple tools (e.g. ClickUp or similar) to support coherence and continuity — without bureaucracy
* Work closely with the Communications Lead and Executive Director to adapt the sensing infrastructure as conditions change
* Success in this role looks like clarity without pressure, coherence without control, and learning that accumulates without becoming heavy.
A strong fit if you:
* Have experience coordinating networks or distributed communities (3+ years)
* Lead with relational intelligence and good judgment
* Are comfortable working in contexts shaped by disruption and uncertainty
* Care about sustainability, systems change, and humane ways of working
