About Anthesis:
Anthesis is the sustainability activator. Proud to be a B Corp, we seek to make a significant contribution to a world which is more resilient and productive. We do this by working with cities, corporates, investors and other organisations to drive sustainable performance. We develop financially driven sustainability strategies, underpinned by technical expertise and delivered by innovative collaborative teams across the world.
At Anthesis Group, we are truly committed to putting people and our planet at the heart of all we do.
Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
We are an innovative leader in corporate sustainability reporting, helping companies navigate the evolving reporting landscape and stakeholder needs. We produce top-tier sustainability reports and related disclosures aligned with external standards and regulations, advise on strategies to enhance disclosures and optimize ESG ratings, and create communications to credibly share our clients’ stories and performance with diverse stakeholders.
Principal Consultant level practitioners should be able to effectively guide clients through the strategy and planning, content development and drafting, design, and review and socialization phases of their sustainability reports and related disclosures. In this role you will also help clients understand the evolving landscape of voluntary standards and mandatory sustainability disclosure requirements and guide clients in responding to these expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Lead – As a Principal Consultant in our ESG Reporting & Disclosure Service Line, you will be expected to:
Lead the delivery of reporting strategy and report development client engagements, largely independently, demonstrating critical thinking and understanding of both process and strategic issues, context, and client needs.
Develop content – including writing and editing reports, disclosures, and other related materials.
Conduct strategic analysis, benchmarking, and research to develop actionable short- and long-term recommendations for clients’ reporting ambitions.
Lead project delivery teams, comprised of colleagues at all levels and from across the organization, including reviewing and refining team members’ work products and being accountable for ensuring they meet our quality standard: clear and well-written, reflective of careful thought and analysis, error-free, and polished.
Deliver tasks on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality, to ensure that projects meet or exceed targets and deadlines.
Manage several projects at any one time – each with their own project team, which may include external contractors – including managing timelines, workstreams, and budgets and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to project success.
Sustainability Reporting and Disclosure Advisory – To inform the creation of these client deliverables and be an expert advisor and partner to our clients, you will be expected to be engaged, knowledgeable, and conversant in evolving sustainability reporting trends and landscape. This includes:
Convey an understanding of voluntary and mandatory disclosure strategies, various reporting frameworks, raters, regulatory requirements, and reporting best practices.
Advise clients on reporting strategy projects via rater and framework gap analysis, benchmarking, and reporting trends analysis to develop recommendations for programmatic and policy enhancements that address disclosure gaps and improve performance.
Support clients in gathering data and information and translating key sustainability messages into mediums for different target audiences (e.g., investor reporting frameworks, ESG rater and ranker platforms, regulators, customer surveys, employees, etc.).
Support and help advise clients in developing and implementing assurance readiness processes for their sustainability reporting.
Integrate and utilize ESG data management tools and software solutions.
Business Development – In collaboration with a senior client manager and the Service Line Lead, you will:
Contribute to and develop proposals for potential clients and projects, as well as expand scopes of engagement and support with existing clients, in collaboration with colleagues across Anthesis, to help them drive their sustainability agenda.
Support leadership in evolving our services to help clients with the changing voluntary and mandatory reporting landscape, regulatory reporting readiness and compliance, and other sustainability reporting and disclosure needs.
