Overview

At Verdama Earth, a mission-driven for-profit dedicated to community-led ecosystem restoration, we are assembling a multi-disciplinary team of independent consultants for the final-stage development of a high-integrity carbon project PDD. This project focuses on conservation and restoration in Honduras’s biodiversity-critical Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve.

Key Expertise

We are looking for senior specialists whose expertise is not just theoretical, but proven in delivering validator-ready documentation under major standards (Verra, Gold Standard, CCB, CAR, etc.). This project demands technical excellence, rigorous social standards (FPIC), and real-world field feasibility.

We are seeking expertise across seven key functional specializations:

• 📈 Carbon Accounting & Methodology Expert (REDD+/ARR): Focus on GHG quantification, baseline, and additionality.
• 👥 Social, Governance, and FPIC Specialist: Proven experience documenting FPIC and designing Benefit Sharing Mechanisms (BSMs) for Indigenous communities.
• 🗺️ GIS, Remote Sensing, and Data Validation Expert: Expertise in deforestation modelling and spatial baseline data.
• ✍️ PDD Technical Writer & Validation Manager: Track record of compiling and guiding at least 3-5 PDDs through successful validation.
• 🐒 Biodiversity & Co-Benefits (CCB/Ecosystem Services) Specialist: CCB validation experience, HCV assessment, and co-benefit quantification.
• 🌲 MRV, Field Operations, and Community Monitoring Expert: Designing practical, community-supported field protocols and MRV systems.
• 💰 Financial Modelling & Carbon Rights Expert: Developing Financial Additionality and securing legal carbon ownership in complex tenure settings.

Your expertise may span multiple roles—and we encourage it. We are focused on filling the skills required to deliver a truly high-integrity PDD.

Key General Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of senior experience in AFOLU/NCS.
• Mandatory expertise with Verra (VCS, CCB), Gold Standard, or equivalent standards.
• Strong experience in Latin America/Central America and working with Indigenous communities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Must be able to work remotely, collaboratively, and adhere to ambitious, milestone-driven deadlines

This role will be offered as a 6-month consultancy agreement with the possibility of prolongation.
