About BasiGo:
BasiGo is a pioneering e-mobility start-up driving a transformation in Africa’s public transportation. BasiGo provides an electric bus solution as a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to diesel buses for private operators in Kenya. At the heart of BasiGo’s innovation is our Pay-As-You-Drive model, making electric bus ownership and operation accessible and affordable for private sector operators across Africa. The Pay-As-You-Drive model is an all-inclusive lease that simplifies adoption of an electric bus for private operators by lowering the upfront cost, providing convenient charging infrastructure, and providing expert after-sales service ensuring reliable operation throughout the life of the Electric Bus.

- Coordinate assessments, interviews, and feedback loops with hiring managers.
- Collect feedback on the recruitment process to continuously improve efficiency and candidate experience.
2. Candidate Experience
- Ensure timely, respectful, and transparent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Create seamless and structured candidate touchpoints (applications, interviews, feedback, offer stages).
- Represent BasiGo’s values and culture in all candidate interactions.
3. Employer Branding
- Support employer branding initiatives in partnership with the Head of People.
- Contribute recruitment content for LinkedIn, careers pages, and culture communications.
- Manage our reviews on Glassdoor and other platforms.
- Help promote our mission, team culture, and impact in the EV space to attract top talent on different platforms, school career days etc.
- Support candidate outreach campaigns that highlight BasiGo’s mission, diversity, and growth.
4. Hiring Manager Capability Building & Recruitment Training
- Train, coach, and support hiring managers on best-practice recruitment, including interviewing techniques, competency-based assessment, role scoping, writing effective JDs, and delivering a strong candidate experience.
- Develop recruitment toolkits and training materials (interview guides, scoring rubrics, question banks, decision-making frameworks) to ensure consistency and fairness across all hiring teams.
- Partner with managers to strengthen their interviewing confidence and judgment, ensuring they are equipped to assess not only skills, but also values alignment and long-term potential.
5. Recruitment Metrics & Reporting
- Track and analyze recruitment KPIs (time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, cost per hire, candidate experience ratings, etc.).
- Provide hiring updates and data-driven insights to the People Team and hiring managers.
- Recommend improvements to hiring processes based on data and market trends.
