Bob Collymore Shoots Down Claims of Facebook Buying MPesa Platform

Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has dismissed as fake the story doing the rounds on the interwebs that Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg wants to buy mobile money platform M-Pesa.
Collymore said Zuckerberg, who is the brains behind Facebook, could hire developers and build a payment platform if he really wanted a facility like M-Pesa.
“Somebody made it up. It is just an Internet story,” the telecoms fime CEO said as reported by the Star on Friday, September 9.
“I was supposed to meet him but I could not because I was in a Safaricom board meeting,” he added.
