Calling All Social Entrepreneurs
Tuesday, September 18, 2012
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in cooperation with the United Nations Foundation, Mashable, UNDP, 92Y and Ericsson are hosting the Social Good Summit in New York City this weekend. Even if you can’t go to New York, you can participate.
Let’s be clear about a few things. If you are or have ever hoped to become a social entrepreneur this is your time. The world needs you to engage now. Not because things are dire, but because things are so hopeful. There has never been a time in history when we’ve had more resources available to bring to bear on the world’s biggest problems.
But the world’s big problems are really big. They require that we all engage, that we all find a way to be involved, to do something, to get off our keisters and make a difference.
This weekend, if you can’t go to New York, you can still participate. You can register on the site to watch the event live for free. You can follow the action on Twitter searching for the hashtag #SGSGlobal. And finally, you can attend a Social Good Summit meeting in your own community.
