Can Blockchain Tech Revolutionize The Global Aid Industry?

By Nicholas Fearn

Whether it’s helping to rebuild infrastructure after a natural disaster, eradicating health epidemics like Ebola or feeding hungry families, overseas aid is a crucial lifeline for many communities around the world.

If you’ve donated to a humanitarian cause before, you’ll no doubt have asked yourself what happened to your donation. But tracking these funds based on where they go, how they’re spent and their eventual impact is a real challenge for the aid industry.

Welsh startup Disberse is on a mission to build a new financial institution for the aid industry, using blockchain technology. It’s designed an online platform that allows donors and aid organizations to manage their funds globally.
