Ethiopia Signs $600 Million Wind Farm Deal in Renewable Energy Boost
Signifying a substantial leap forward in its renewable energy aspirations, Ethiopia has inked an agreement with UAE-based firm AMEA Power for the construction of a wind farm with a capacity of 300 megawatts. This $600 million investment proclaims Ethiopia’s commitment to enhancing its renewable energy capacity and expanding electricity coverage, a necessity glaringly highlighted by the fact that half of the country’s population, approximately 60 million people, lacked access to the grid as of 2020.
