Following an announcement by Ghana’s Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Ghanaian government is investing an amount of $740 million in the provision of drinking water under a policy dubbed “water for all”.
Bawumia made this known on 10 October in Tuna, in the Savannah Region, where he recently rounded up an official tour of that region. According to Bawumia, the significant investment of over $740 million in various water projects across the country has increased the percentage of Ghanaians who have access to potable drinking water in line with the UN SDG for the provision of clean water and sanitation for all.
