Indian State to partner with Yunus for poverty eradication

The Andra Pradesh State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladeshi social entrepreneur, economist and civil society leader Muhammad Yunus to replicate the Nobel laureate’s ‘social business’ model.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday by Vice-Chancellor of the B.R. Ambedkar University and the Director of the Yunus Khan Centre in the presence of HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and the Noble laureate himself at the office of Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE), Tadepalli.

The Yunus Social Business (YSB) is an initiative that creates and empowers social businesses to solve social problems.
