Kenyan Banks Battle to Go Fully Digital in Race for Cheap Deposits

The era of branchless banking is now with us as Kenyan banks aggressively position themselves to offer their services through the mobile phone and Internet. This is a two-pronged strategy for the banks as they hope to significantly reduce their costs while at the same time grow the number of customers. The latter will help them access cheap deposits and a wider client base for loans.
