Life expectancy in Indian increases by 5 years

New Delhi – The measures taken by India on health sector in past decade has started paying results as the life expectancy in the country has increased by 5 years in last decade.
“The health indicators across the country have shown significant improvements during past decade. The life expectancy has increased by five years in the past decade,” a official of Indian Health ministry said.
He said the life expectancy used to be 62.3 years for male and 63.9 years for female in 2001-2005. “It is now 67.3 years for male and 69.6 years for female in 2011-2015”.
He further said there has been reduction in new HIV cases by 57%.
