Metlife Foundation, Sisimpur unveil new initiative

MetLife Foundation and Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, a non-profit educational organisation working for Sisimpur, announced the launch of a new initiative in the country titled “Dream, Save, Do: Financial Empowerment for Families.”

Part of a global multimedia programme aimed at helping young children and their parents acquire healthy financial skills and behaviours, the initiative provides engaging content featuring Muppets from Sisimpur, the Bangladeshi version of Sesame Street, with effective strategies for spending, saving, sharing, and donating, said a statement.

The launching event, held at the Bengal Multimedia Studio in Dhaka’s Tejgaon, was attended by Marcia Bernicat, US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Janina Jaruzelski, USAID Bangladesh Mission Director, Assaduzzaman Noor,  Minister for Cultural Affairs, Meher Afroz Chumki, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs, Md. Nurul Islam, Chairman of MetLife Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar; Krishna Thacker, Director Financial Empowerment (Asia), MetLife Foundation; and representatives from various non-profit organisations working on early childhood development in the country.
