Press release: ImpactUs’ mission continues through strategic acquisition by MissionPoint

Wednesday, February 28, 2018

ImpactUs Marketplace LLC and MissionPoint Partners are excited to announce that a subsidiary of MissionPoint has acquired the majority of ImpactUs’ assets. MissionPoint will integrate these assets  into a new business with a similar mission as ImpactUs – to increase the flow of capital into private impact investments.  The new venture will initially focus on connecting donor-advised funds with impact investment products.

MissionPoint Partners is a leading impact investing advisor and asset manager focused on solving large-scale environmental and social problems through the deployment of high impact capital. MissionPoint empowers a select group of families, foundations and institutions to achieve social change at scale while preserving rigorous financial oversight, with an extensive history of investing in and launching new impact-driven ventures.

ImpactUs Marketplace was a collaborative effort among community development, philanthropic and impact investing leaders. Investors included Enterprise Community Partners, and City First Enterprises, the original incubators of ImpactUs, along with NeighborWorks Capital and ImpactAssets. ImpactUs also received grants from Ford Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Open Road Alliance.

Their shared interest was to build the necessary infrastructure to connect private impact investments with institutions, individuals and financial advisors.  Many of the equity partners will remain connected through an Impact Advisory Group that the new venture plans to establish to provide insight around product sourcing and impact.

ImpactUs Marketplace LLC President and CEO Reginald Stanley said, “The ImpactUs team was an amazing group of spirited and committed employees and stakeholders.  We have great enthusiasm about what was accomplished and are enthusiastic to see a partner like MissionPoint that has expertise and a commitment to  impact investing carry the mission forward.”

MissionPoint Partners Co-founder and Managing Director Mark Cirilli said, “Our team was impressed with the functionality, both developed and planned, of the ImpactUs Marketplace platform and the depth of understanding the ImpactUs team had of the private impact investing landscape. Additionally, we have deep respect for the partners that formed ImpactUs Marketplace and their connection to  impact investing and community development. We look forward to incorporating their capabilities, knowledge and experience into our new venture.”
