Monday, July 9, 2012
Cheryl Dorsey, president of Echoing Green, an organization promoting social entrepreneurship, has been recently named as one of the Social Venture Network’s (SVN) Hall of Fame Impact Award Winners as a Visionary Social Entrepreneur. The award is a well-deserved recognition of her pioneering work in the field of social entrepreneurship.
For more than 25 years, Echoing Green has been an active source of seed funding for over 500 social enterprises that look at their businesses as a means to promote global good. A growing number of young social entrepreneurs are applying for the Echoing Green fellowships with every passing year.
Cheryl says: “I’ve been around long enough to watch social entrepreneurship grow from being a nascent field to what I think is arguably one of the most important social movements of the 21st century.”
“The involvement and interest of the millennial generation in particular that has really fuelled the explosive growth of social entrepreneurship on campuses across the country and in communities around the world has been really exciting to see.”
