Uber announced the rollout of a new feature in partnership with DPO Group and MTN Mobile Money. The feature will enable mobile money payments for partner drivers in Ghana. The taxi-hailing platform said it will not remove other payment methods.

“While we are not removing the cash option for drivers, we believe this partnership will provide a more efficient payment and cash collection solution that will ensure that partners have an easier method to pay Uber their service fees,” Mini Omokri, Business Development Manager for Uber in Sub-Saharan African has said.
