Social Enterprise Alliance, a national organization of purpose-driven businesses, named Vanderbilt University professor Jim Schorr as its new CEO.
Schorr has served as the SEA’s board chairman and will begin his new position Feb. 1, replacing Kevin Lynch.
“The future for social enterprise in North America and beyond is exceptionally bright,” Schorr said in a statement. “This is an exciting time for SEA, and I look forward to working with SEA’s members, chapters, partners and other stakeholders to build on the progress we made under Kevin Lynch’s leadership and further establish SEA as a key catalyst in the sector’s development and growth.”
The SEA, based in Minneapolis, is composed of more than 1,100 members and 17 regional chapters, including one in Nashville. The Nashville chapter has 30 listed members, including Thistle Farms, Zeumo, the Contributor and Soles4Souls.
Lynch will remain involved as CEO emeritus, and Tim Robinson, SEA vice chairman and UPS vice president, will become chairman.
