With New CEO, What’s Next for the Global Impact Investing Network
Wednesday, January 28, 2015
The impact investing industry has grown in reputation and size over the past five years — and alongside it, the Global Impact Investing Network has evolved as well, with its membership increasing tenfold as it added products and services for the growing field.
As the organization enters an era where its role will be less about raising awareness of the industry and more about maximizing the network, conducting research and providing tools for those working in impact investing, it kicked off the year with a new leader at the helm.
Amit Bouri, no stranger to GIIN, was named its new CEO earlier this month.
While the changes and growth in the market have been impressive, there is talk about how the industry has “arrived” and is approaching a state of maturity, which Bouri said is not yet true. While excited about what is yet to come, he said it is important to acknowledge that the work of GIIN and of impact investors more broadly is far from over.
