Wockhardt Foundation launches 100th healthcare van

Mumbai, Jan 30 Wockhardt Foundation today launched its 100th healthcare van catering to rural areas in the country under its flagship programme “Mobile 1000”.

“We are happy to announce that the 100th ‘Mobile 1000’ healthcare van was launched in Uttarakhand today in partnership with the Hans Foundation and it will further bridge the gaps in the delivery of healthcare services to rural India,” said Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO and Trustee of Wockhardt Foundation, the social arm of pharma company Wockhardt Ltd.

Under this project, the foundation aims to provide rural primary healthcare to villages through Mobile 1000 healthcare vans.

“India faces daunting challenges in the field of healthcare and to overcome it, our Foundation through ‘Mobile 1000’ initiative, is making all possible efforts to provide healthcare services to rural areas in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, Punjab, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh etc,” Khorakiwala said.

The Mobile 1000 health van is equipped with a GPS tracking system with a team comprising a doctor, a pharmacist and a driver. It provides free OPD/health screening for rural people and free basic health services,” a statement said.
