Barid Baran is currently the public relations officer of Bandhan-Konnagar, a Kolkata-based nonprofit, where he is responsible for communication and partnership outreach.  Before this, he spent more than three decades as a journalist in New Delhi, writing on a range of topics including politics, business and NGOs. Baran began his career with Asia’s leading wire service Press Trust of India. In between, he held responsible positions with India’s top magazine India Today and leading newspapers like Business Standard, Financial Express, Pioneer and Times of India group. Baran has long been passionate and involved in volunteer work aimed at human development and uplifting poor, marginalized and destitute populations to a more sustainable path.
