Danielle Wainer
Fulbright

Born and raised in New York, Danielle is a graduate of Brown University, where she double majored in International Relations and Hispanic Studies. While a student, Danielle lived and studied in Madrid, Spain, and also worked for the U.S. Department of State at the American Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay. After graduating from Brown, Danielle worked briefly as a legislative aide for New York City Councilman Eric Gioia, and then spent two and a half years as an associate in the Americas division of Human Rights Watch. In 2008, she was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to research market-based approaches to poverty alleviation in Lima, Peru, where she is currently based.
