Ed Canton is the Awards Officer at the Lemelson-MIT Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He manages the Lemelson-MIT Program Awards that include two national awards, the $100,000 Lemelson-MIT Award for Global Innovation and the $500,000 Lemelson-MIT Prize for a mid-career inventor. The awards recognize outstanding inventors who can be inventor-role models for youth. Ed has spent much of his career working in an higher education environment, having worked at Wheaton College in Massachusetts and being the College’s liaison to the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship.
